NEW PLYMOUTH. Tlie Irish snooker and billiards (champion Paddy Morgan, is upset by a “lack of coverage and publicity” for his series of games in New Zealand with the (former Indian champion. Satisl, I Mohan. He claimed in Haweia that he : had broken two New Zealand records and possibly a world record, but that these had not been reported in the media. j He said that in Ills billiards ' game in Te Kuiti last week jhe scored 981 points in one •hour, beating the New Zealand record by at least 200 and possibly the world record for a onehour score. At the Leisure World Billiards Company in Auckland. Morgan said he made four breaks of j 198 187 142. and 137. beating I another one-hour scoring record. Morgan also had strong criticism of poor tables provided in -omiPtowns he had played in. He said the one he played on in Hawera on Monday night was the worst one ever. “I’m not trying to be sour grapes or anything, but a poor I | table knocks the confidence out of you and can put a top player l | right out of form,” he said. Satish Mohan said a top player used to a certain standard had his confidence killed with a poor table, and at Hawera both he and Paddy Morgan were forced to “play slow.” So far in the series, Morgan: is leading, 8-2, in the billiards and 31-9 fn the snooker. The series was originally planned to last three weeks, but has now j been extended to six weeks.
