Equals pay committee

WELLINGTON, Mar. 7.
A committee of six to review progress on equal pay was announced today by the Minister of Labour (Mr Faulkner). The committee’s chairman will be Mr E. G. Heggie, a former Deputy Director-Gen-eral of the Department of Health. Other members are Mr R. E. Taylor, representing the Employers’ Federation; Mrs S, M. L. Davies, Federation of Labour; Mrs E. W. Orr and Mrs R. M. King, women’s organisations; and Mr S. D. Willians, Department of Labour. Interested organisations and individuals will be able to make written submissions, and the committee will then decide on the need for and the extent of public hearing,
