Chelsea Tower was h.v far the most impressive trialist at Awapuni yesterday. The Thompson Handicap candidate showed further improvement with hiß winning run at Napier Paik last week by running 1209 m strongly.
The track was on the easy side after overnight rain anil Chelsea Tower was one to »how his appreciation when he galloped on the course proper. His race rival, Avub Khan, also went well in ids trial.
Chelsea Power ran strongly over 1200 m in 1:16 4-5. the last 600 m In 38 4-ssee. He pulled up looking ready for more and he must be a top chance in the Thompson Handicap. Ayub Khan worked in his best style to shade Florin, with a gap to Monfair at the end of 1200 m in 1:19 the last 600 m in •lOsec.. The time was not nearly as fast as Chelsea Tower’s, but Ayub Khan did his work with something in hand.
