U.S. Embassy ‘base for C.I.A.’

While Soviet officials might be trying to discover New Zealand’s secrets, the United States Embassy served as a base for the C.I.A. which helped the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service to spy on New Zealand citizens, said Mr W. Rosenberg, in a statement issued for the Resistance Bookshop and Action Centre. He was commenting on a leading article in “The Press” of February 24 about the Sutch case and the activities of the Soviet Embassy. Mr Rosenberg said that the Security Intelligence Service and the Official Secrets Act should be abolished.
