Five hurt on roads
Five persons were admitted to Christchurch Hospital after five motor accidents in Christchurch on Saturday. A bov aged five, Simon Julian Shields, of 55 Francis Avenue. St Albans, who was struck by a car about 11.05 a.m., suffered leg injuries and was admitted in a moderately serious condition, but was reported fairly comfort-able'-last evening. Helen Roberts, -ged 16. of 132 Emmett Street, Shirley, suffered interna) injuries, and was admitted to hospital in a moderately serious condition, after a car in which she was travelling rolled over in Hills Road about 11 a.m. Miss Roberts was discharged yes- ! terdav.
Ivor Williams, aged 13, of Kaiapoi. suffered internal injuries when he fell off a motor-cycle near Woodend about 3 n.m. He was admitted to hospital in a moderately serious condition, but was reported fairly comfortable yesterday.
Charles Hamilton, aged 68. suffered head and chest injuries when a car in which he was travelling struck a kerb on Bealey Avenue about 3.30 p.m. Mr Hamilton was admitted to hosnital but was discharged yesterday. Kay Lvnnette Dvson. aged; 18. of 21 Smarties Street. Hoon Hay, suffered moderately serious head injuries when she was in a car which was involved in a collision on Pananui Road about 11J25| p.m. She was also admitted to hospital but discharged! , yesterday. 1
