Symbol chosen

Television One has decided on its symbol. It will be a simple, screenfilling “one” in lower case letters, with “Television” above and to the left of it. The symbol will wipe on to the screen in black, and then a rainbow will wipe in, filling the top of the “o” in “one.” Rainbow colours, starting with the shortest band, will be medium blue, light blue, green, yellow, red and shocking pink. The type style is future medium, and the symbol — “logotype” or “logo” as it is known — will be used also on all Television One property, including letterheads. The winning design for the Wellington-based channel was submitted by an Auckland adverti'ing agency.
