Charge of murder
A retired Tiqiaru schoolteacher, Lindley Kennedy Murray, aged 69, was charged with the murder of May Lillian Murray when he appeared in the Ashburton Magistrate’s Court - yesterday. Mr J. D. Kinder, S.M., remanded Murray to Sunnyside Hospital, Christchurch, for a psychiatric report. He was ordered to appear in court in Timaru on February 21. Counsel, Mr E. W. Unwin, consented to the remand. No plea was entered. Detective Sergeant J. G. Scott appeared for the police.
