'Bishops too nice'
Anglican bishops are too! nice, according to the! “Church England Year Book.’’ An anonymous clergyman who wrote the preface to the 1975 annual j for 45 million Anglicans, (criticises Church of England bishops for “their uniform middle-class niceness, the result of their origins and training,” and he adds: “Occasionally we sigh for just a dash of vulgarity on the (bishops) Bench —but in vain.’—London, January 27.
