(N.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND. Results yesterday from the national women's second XI cricket tournament in Auckland were:— Wellington 110/9 declared, and 49/4, South Auckland 109 (A. Lawrie 46; E. Hansen 6719. D. Sexton 3/5). A first innings win to Wellington. Otago 72 (J. Olson 3/18, J. McNamara 4/7) and 43 (J. Hall 24; S. Masters 4/7. S. Roberts 4/24). Canterbury 134/1 declared (L. Shankland 50 not out. J. Olsen 56 not out). An outright win to Canterbury. Auckland 168/9 declared (K. Longhurst 54. T. Maihi 38; E. Badliam 5/47). North Shore 107 (E. Badham 52; J. Mackenzie 5/36. K. Longhurst 4/25). A first innings win to Auckland.
Tennis.— Jimmy Connors beat his fellow American, Billy Martin. the world’s top junior player, 6-4, 6-3, in the final of tbe Birmingham International Indoor Tennis tournament.
