First tour match
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Wellington’s three-day international cricket match against the M.C.C. at the Basin Reserve next month has been brought forward a day. The match is now scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, February 15 to 17. Originally, the match was to have been played on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Wellington is the first match of a five-match tour of New Zealand by the M.C.C.
The chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association (Mr I. Taylor) said that the M.C.C. had agreed with the date changes. The M.C.C. had an extra date up their sleeves in the final day of the last test against Australia, Mr Taylor said. But now the Ashes were clear-cut, the final day put aside to help get a decision would not be needed.
