Uraniums and selected stocks rally in Aust.
Uranium shares were marked up on rumours, and selected miners and industrial shares were also higher on Australian share markets yesterday. I Pancontinental closed at a -record price of 322 c in Sydney, 32c higher than on Thursday, and 47c higher than a week ago. Peko Wallsend put on 10c at 350 c and Queensland Mines rose sc.
Reports that Australia was likely to sign uranium deals with Italy in the near future may have sparked the rally. BHP rose 2c to 520 c making an 18c rise during the week. The Bank of New South Wales rose another 5c to 430 c for a 20c gain in the week. NBA gained 10c on 222 c. and CBA was up 5c on 190 c. CBC was steady. Property firms made further marginal gains while coal miners and contractor, Thiess, put on 10c at 225 c and Utah rc.se 4c at 544 c. BH South rose 12c at 185 c. Western Mining was up 5c and Mount Isa Mines 4c. Woodside-Burmah shed one cent, but AAR rose 2c to 128 c.
