“Vision on”
“Vision On” is what it sounds like — a children’s show that relies on action and pictures rather than words. It is thought to be the only all-visual, programme of its type in the world today. The new programme symbol is a grasshopper, which is because this is a grasshopper sort of production, leaping off in all directions, fast and unpredictably, swivelling a wary eye on the variety of common or garden objects used as starting points for each programme. Making pictures with paint, ink, string and sealing wax, scrap timber or anything else that comes to hand, is at the centre of it all, with Tony Hart as guide to show what a little imagination can do. Pat Keysell and Ben Benison take imagination a step further with more episodes of acting without words, usually without props or scenery either — in a way that anyone could join in without having to learn specialised mime techniques. “Vision On,” a 8.8. C. production, will begin screening on Monday afternoon.
