Freighter sold
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 10. The freighter Waimea has been sold by the Union Steam Ship Company, and was! handed over today to Marama Navigation S.A., of Panama. I The 3657-ton Waimea has been laid up at Auckland. She is not. likely to be used in the Pacific, according to the Union company. The sale of the Holmlea — formerly the Northern Steam Ship Company roll-on ferry Seaway Princess —is believed to be near completion. The Holmlea supplemented the Rangatira before being laid up.
Athletics.—A team of 19 athletes from Napier will compete in Brisbane this week-end. Leading the team is Craig Daley, the New Zealand sprint champion.
