Kiwis score big win
("The Press" Special Service) ARMIDALE. The Canterbury Kiwis cricket team had a decisive win over Armidale in a 40overs match yesterday, the second game on the tour of New South Wales.
With the captain, David Williams, making a patient 82 not out, the Kiwis reached 208 for the loss of only three wickets. Fine bowling by Michael Johnston and Andrew Nixon, assisted by some brilliant fielding, led to Armidale’s dismissal for only 114 in 28 overs.
Scores:— Canterbury 208/ 3 (D. Williams 82 not out, D. Brand 50, Michael Johnston 38) beat Armidale 114 (Michael Johnston 3/5, A. Nixon 2/27).
