Kirk book auction

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Dame Ruth Kirk, wife of the late Prime Minister, has put hundreds of books up for auction in Wellington. About 450 to 500 books are stacked in 20 cardboard boxes in Wright Stephenson’s auction court in Taranaki Street. Many of the books are signed either, “N. E. Kirk,” “Norman Kirk,” or stamped with “Norman Kirk. M.P.” They include historical books on industry, banking, socialism and the Labour movement, New Zealand Official Yearbooks, booklets on overseas countries, religion, industrial relations, bio graphics and a selection of publications on Asia and underdeveloped countries.
