(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Strong thermal conditions gave much improved flying for the final day of the national gliding championships at Omarama yesterday. In the open class, P. Heginbothan (Wellington) was first over-all with 6292 points after seven days competition. B. Drake (Christchurch) was second, 6130, D. Yarral! (Wellington), third. 5640, and A. Pryde (Auckland) fourth, 5599
Drake won the standard class with 6601 points from P. Lyons (Hawke’s Bay. 5754., T. Timmerans (Auckland), 5429, and D Waters (Dunedin), 5244.
Unofficial winneis of the sports class were B. Kclh (Hawke’s Bay’ 1 A. Van Djke (Upper Hutt) 2. J. Upton and D. Percy (Upper Hntt) 3.
