Lottery-profit grants
The Lottery Profits Scientific Research Distribution Committee has made the following grants for 1974 to local people and organisations: Th* Royal Society of New Zeeland, $15,000 for binding periodical*; Professor R. A. Harrison, Lincoln College, $5BOO to enable Dr K, A. Spencer, of London, to carry out a study of leaf-mining flies of New Zealand during 1974 75: Drs R. Park and T. Paulay. School of Engineering, University of Canterbury, as grant in aid of $33,000 towards the purchase of an MTS testing machine for use by the University of Canterbury and other organisation throughout New Zealand; Professor L. Kay. School of Engineering. University of Canterbury. $lO,OOO for two sensory aids for young children; and Dr D. 3. Byers, University of Canterbury, $BOOO for the purchase of test equipment and motors.
