Gore stablemates likely at Waikouaiti

The successful Southland ti'ainer, E. A. Winsloe, is expected to have top contenders in feature races at the Waikouaiti Racing Club’s meeting tomorrow.

Pakistan Flight’s latest form has fallen short of his best as a three-year-old last season, but he will get few brighter chances to get back on the winning list than in tomorrow’s Toomey Memorial.

Winsloe's hopefuls for the T.A.B. double races will be Magic Touch and Magle Eye. Magic Touch is one of the obvious fancies for the first leg, the Waikouaiti Cup, after her good second to Fiore in the Dunedin Gold Cup on Boxing Day. Magic Eye, as winner of two of her last four starts, has appealing credentials for the Bray Handicap, second leg of the double. The Riccarton pair, Bun Tuck and Rebel Lad. seem the most likely to trouble Magic Touch in the Cup. The Bray Handicap is stacked with form prospects, and Magic Eye will have to come up with one of her very best runs to contain the likes of Glamis Knight, from Wingatui, and Distract, Cossack Pride. Buzzin Along and Bacchus Marsh from Riccarton. Selections:— 11.20 a.m.—D. P. Wilson Mem. orial Hiah-weighf: Bar, Solar Flight, Double Scotch.
