Good start made to water polo
The Kamehameha club water polo team from Hawaii made a promising start to its matches in Canterbury last evening. It beat Beckenham-Sock-burn—without two of its top players—6-5, then drew, 7-7, with the Canterbury under 21 team. The scorers for Beckenham. Sockburn were Bryan Mustchin (3), Dennis Reid and Don Payieur-Smith. G. Arth (2). J. Chun (2). W. Choy and B. Olivera replied for Kamehameha.
The under 21s gave a very promising performance, matching the visitors in swimming, with Gary Campbell and Richard Clark particularly prominent. They scored three goals each, and the other came from John Davie.
The Kamehameha goals were by Choy (2), A. Ho, M. Takahashi, P. Bacon, C. Crowell and Olivera.
