[Thomas of Wales, 11-9,. in the i final. : Edmonds had led 4-2 after 'the first series and the contest developed a great deal of tension as the players were deadlocked at nine frames each. In the final frame Edmonds produced a break of 42 and won by 90 to 27. Frame scores (Edmonds first); 107-25, 42-68, 56-46, 69-69 (Edmonds won on respot of black), 57-67, 60-37, 64-13, 34-64, 76-24, 22-83, 1388, 3-90, 28-64. 67-8, 84-10, 72-64, 36-76, 46-56, 66-43, 90-27.
