Clich riders to fore i (“The Press'* Special Service) DUNEDIN. - Christchurch riders took (the major honours in yester- ; day’s Leith Round Table [charity moto-cross, held on [the magnificent new course [near Waihola, South Otago. [ Two classes up to 125 c.c •and over 125 c.c. were run (Each rider competed in twe 'heats, two semi-finals, a repe’charge, if needed, and a final, lif they were good enough In the 125 c.c. final,, A I Bryce (Christchurch) held the [[lead from the start until 10C yards to the finish line when he was passed by P. Boyle .(Wellington). The race was ol [2O minutes duration. Third land fourth were other ChristI church riders, B. Carpenter and B. Williams. The final of the 250 c.c. class provided the large crowd with the most spectacular racing of the day, as riders strove to win first place and collect the $l5O class prize. G. Stapleton (Christchurch) riding a Kawasaki, led from the first corner until the chequered flag, finishing 62sec in front of the second place-getter, L. Ross (250 Montesa), also from Christchurch. Ross’s performance was also outstanding as he rode for more than half the race with a flat rear tyre. [ R. Habber (Christchurch) [ was third and H. Sproull 1 (Queenstown) fourth.
