BRAVERY AWARD

(From the London corres- ■ pondent of 'The Press") LONDON. Miss Julienne Hom was presented with the emblems of the Queen’s commendation for brave conduct by the High Commissioner (Mr T. H. McCombs) at New Zealand; House. Last March Miss Hom climbed down a shaft and; crawled through a tunnel at Hampton Court to help save a workman who had been affected by the fumes of a petrol-driven pump. Next week Miss Hom will receive another award, the Royal Humane Society’s “Testimonial on Parchment,” ifor courageous rescue.
