BIKIES QUIET

(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, October 27. About 280 bikies from throughout New Zealand are holding a convention just outside Napier. They are camped under canvas. A special squad of 100 police are also in Napier and have been keeping the group under surveillance. Senior-Sergeant D. A. Berryman, who is in charge of the operational force, said they had posed no problem. “This morning 18 motorcyclists left for Auckland and we sent a shadow patrol with them.” he said. “Some of them have been into the city and have had the odd game of putting. “Otherwise they seem to be staying at their camp where their are holding their convention. This is supposed to finish tomorrow and they should all disperse.”
