Sir, — So New Zealand Breweries has given $lOOO to the City Christchurch Mission night shelter appeal. Truly Gilbertian! Wreck a portion of society, then give a postage-stamp-sized patch to fill a bomb crater. What are the other favoured charities does not appear.
