Spring garden competition

Mr and Mrs A L. Julian, of 36 Domain Terrace, Spreydon. were placed first in the Christchurch Beautifying ' Association’s spring garden competition, judged at the ' week-end. Second was Mrs B. A. Howman, 42 Craven Street. Upper Riccarton. Mr and Mrs N. F. Holland. 281 Memorial Avenue. Bumside, were third. About 12 entries were received. Considering the wet weather, which made growing conditions difficult, the : standard of gardens was very good, said the judges, Mr J. Walsh and Mrs E. W. Rodgiers.
