New Niue stamps
This set of three stamps showing Christmas festivities on Niue Island will be released on November 13. They depict “Takai,” an important part of the island’s festivities when the people dress gaily, lavishly decorate their means of transport, and travel round the island celebrating, singing, and dancing.
The 3c design shows a decorated bicycle; the 10c, a decorated motor-cycle; ! and the 20c, transport to i church. (The stamps will remain on I sale until October 30, 1975. | Orders for a specially designed first-day cover must reach the Post Office Philatelic Bureau, Private Bag, Wellington, by November 12, with I 40c a cover enclosed.
