Hodgkins fellow

John Parker, of Blenheim, will be Hodgkins fellow at the University of Otago next year. Mr Parker, who is art teacher at the Marlborough Girls’ College, specialises in large oils, though he is also interested in most other art forms. He has held one-man shows featuring drawings and sculpture as well as his big paintings. While in Dunedin for a year, Mr Parker intends to paint as much as possible and to refine his techniques. This is his first art award. Mr Parker is married, and has no children.
