The main Opposition New Democratic Party in South Korea has joined the call for the release of students, intellectuals, and religious and political figures imprisoned for their campaign against the Government. The party has submitted a draft resolution to the National Assembly, calling on President Park Chung Hee to pardon five Opposition politicians and all those convicted under his emergency Park lifted the decrees in August in a national reconciliation move after months of harshlysuppressed dissent. i The N.D.P. resolution says that because of the withdrawal of the decrees there is <no longer reason to keep in prison more than 170 people sentenced to death' and prison terms. ’ r
