Harbour board manager
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Sept. 30. Mr A. G. McHugh was officially appointed general manager of the Northland Harbour Board by the Harbour Board Commissioner (Sir Rochford Hughes) today. Sir Rochford commented that for the last three months Mr McHugh had been acting general manager and was to be appointed general manager at the end of the period if he proved “satisfactory.” That arrangement had been agreed to by the late Prime Minister, Mr Kirk, and the appointment had been confirmed by the new Prime Minister (Mr Rowling).
