Writ for election

Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. The Clerk of the Writs (Sir Patrick O’Dea) will tomorrow issue the writ requiring the returning officer for the Sydenham electoral district to proceed with the election of a member of Parliament for that electorate. The writ, which fixes polling day as November 2, must be endorsed by the returning officer with the name of the person elected and returned to the Clerk of the Writs on or before November 15. Nominations of candidates for the by-election will close at noon on October 10. The [roll of electors to be used at the election will close at 6 p.m. tomorrow.
