Aust.-U.S. arms talks

j The Australian Minister of Defence (Mr Lance Barnard) ’talked for nearly an hour this afternoon with the Secretary of State for Defence (Mr James Schlesinger), (about mutual defence matters and the possible purchase by Australia of American arms.
Mr Barnard, who arrived in the United States on Monday for a six-day visit, is also due to meet the Secretary for the Navy (Mr William Middendorf) and his army counterpart, Mr Howard Callaway, today, and Mr Schlesinger's deputy, Mr William Clements, tomorrow.
