NEW BISHOP INSTALLED

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The Most Rev. J. Mackey was installed as the ninth Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland in a ceremony at St Patrick’s Cathedral. Before a congregation of 1200, the Archbishop of Wellington and Metropolitan of New Zealand (the Most Rev. R. J. Delargey) led Bishop Mackey to the cathedra—the chair which symbolises his role as leader and chief pastor of the Auckland diocese.
