D. Stockton (United States) shot a seven-under-par 64 to overcome a four-stroke deficit and win the $lOO,OOO Quad Cities open golf tournament.
Stockton finished on 271— 13 under par and one stroke better than a former United States amateur champion, B. Fleisher, who finished with a 68 for a total of 272.
Sam Snead, aged 62, who shared the lead entering the final round, slumped to a one-over-par 72 and finished the tournament on 275, four strokes off the lead. John Lister of New Zealand finished on 283 after a final round of 73.
