Deportation order

Neil Leslie Reithmuller, the 27-year-old student sentenced ■to prison for four years last September for setting fire to the United States Consulate in Christchurch, will be deported to Australia after he completes his sentence.

The Superintendent of Paparua Prison (Mr H. S. Stroud) said yesterday that Reithmuller had been told of the order. An official of the Immigration Division of the Department of Labour in Wellington said that the order was made under section 22 of the Immigration Act, which stated that anyone not a New Zealand citizen who committed an offence in New Zealand could be deported. Reithmuller is understood to be an Australian.
