Train heating

Sir,—l have read the reply from Mr A. D. Campbell, district traffic manager of the New Zealand Railways to my letter of June 9 and it does nothing to alter my opinion of his reply to "Cold Commuter.” ("It is not possible to provide heating oh all short suburban runs.”) It is simple to understand why our railway system has a large annual deficit. He should relinquish his posi-

tion to a person who thinks positively and who says "it is possible” and has the capacity to carry that out. If suburban trains .were made reasonably cosy during winter they would be used, and probably become popular.— Yours, etc., SIMPLE SIMON. June 21, 1974.
