Invitation declined

(N.Z. Press Association)' AUCKLAND.

An invitation to take part in a South African international champion-of-champions’ fencing tournament later this year was declined by the executive of the New Zealand Amateur Fencing Association in Auckland yesterday. An Auckland official, who made the announcement, said the majority of voters felt that acceptance of the invitation might jeopardise New Zealand’s standing in the newlyformed Oceania fencing zone.

The decision was carried only by a narrow majority, the official said.
