Civic block

Sir, —I see that the proposed new Civic Block is planned to have a 338-vehi-cle car park occupying its two bottom floors, apparently to allow a parking space each for most of those employed in the building, thps encouraging them to bring more motor-cars into the city—generally, one person in each. I hope that these floors are designed for easy conversion to a better use when sanity at last prevails, and people are encouraged, instead, not to bring cars into the inner city.—Yours, etc.,

JIM McCAHON. May 21, 1974.
