Conference in Seattle

Nine New Zealanders who have been involved with the international Dry Valley Drilling Project in the Antarctic will attend a seminar on the project in Seattle from Mav 29 to Mav 31. The seminar is supported by the National Science Foundation's office of international programmes and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. The superintendent of the D.S.I.R.’s Antarctic division (Mr R. B. Thomson) will address the seminar on New Zealand Antarctic programme. Others in the party are; Dr P. J. Barrett, Mr P. R. Browne, Professor R. Clarke, Dr C. Hendy, Mr J. Hoffman,; Mr P. Kyle, Dr B. McKelvey, and Professor A. T. Wilson, i Most of the party will i leave Christchurch on May I 27 aboard a United States Military Airlift. Command! aircraft and return early in June.
