Ford car prices up
(.\ Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Ford Motor Company today announced price increases for its Escort and Cortina cars. An exception 1 is the Cortina 2000 E, a new j model just introduced. The price increases — of about 9 to 10 per cent — take effect on cars delivered > from the factory from Sun-' day night. A Ford spokesman said) that the higher prices reflected costs increases from source companies including; dearer materials, com-' portents, labour, and freight. Example of new and old prices are: Escort 1100 two-door, old price $2832, new price $3097. Escort 1300 L four-door, $3224, $3521; Cortina 1600, $3427, $3754; Cortina 2000 L, $3691, $4055.
