Party building delayed
(N.Z. Press Association; WELLINGTON. The Labour Party is not pleased with the Government’s Building Controller. He has refused permission for a start on the party’s planned 10-storey headquarters building in Willis Street, Wellington. The party secretary (Mr J. Wybrow) said it had been planned to present firm proposals on the building to the party’s annual conference. However, the controller had said that work on the building could not begin until July, 1976. “This is most disappointing and frustrating . . every effort will be made to reduce the period of deferral,” said Mr Wybrow.
