Award for N.Z. film

WELLINGTON.

The N.Z.8.C.-produced television film “Little North Face’’ has been awarded a special prize in the Trento film festival in Italy — the Bello silver plate, which carries a $5OO prize. “Little North Face” was produced by Hal Weston and featured mountaineers, Graeme Dingle and Murray ■lones. It was screened in (New Zealand in 1972. The film shows the climb (of the challenging north face of Mount Sabre in the Darran Mountains, of Southland. Some of the climbing sequences were shot by Dr Michael Gill, an associate of Sir Edmund Hillary. The Trento film festival, now in its twenty-second year, is for climbing and exploration films.
