Grants by Todd Foundation
Grants of $57,200 will be distributed by the Todd Foundation, the chairman (Mr B. Todd) has announced.
In “The Press” circulation area $5lOO will be distributed. Amounts given are:—
$lOO to the Temuka scout group,- for a venturer scouts hut; $250 to the Timaru Lindisfarne camp, for renovation of the camp kitchen; $250 to the Christchurch Workers’ Educational Association, for discussion group schemes; $5OO to the Christchurch Abilities Group, to build up a cash reserve; $5OO to the Canterbury Sheltered Workshop Association; $5OO to the Canterbury Branch of the Intellectually Handicapped Society; $5OO to the South Canterbury Intellectually Handicapped Society; $5OO to the St John of God Hospital in Christchurch, for the purchase of a van to carry quadraplegics in wheelchairs. $250 to the Nelson Provincial Aged Persons Council, for general expenses; $5OO for the Wharema Geriatric Home and Hospital, Nelson; $5OO to the Windsor House board of governors, Christchurch, for administration; $5OO to the Christchurch City Mission, for a new night shelter; and $250 for the Christchurch Hospital Adoption Trust, for social work with psychiatric patients. Announcing the approval of the grants by the trustees of the fund, Mr Todd said that the foundation’s income
for this year was expected to be $70,000. This would be distributed in 1975.
