Harbour Bd men’s writs

WHANGAREI. May 10.

Two former employees of the Northland Harbour Board, Mr J. A. Lyall, and Mr J. S. Mason, have issued writs against the board commissioner, Sir Rochford Hughes. The two separate writs allege defamation, and each man is claiming $lO,OOO damages.

The claims concern a statement allegedly made by the commissioner oh March 23 referring to the termination of the board’s employment of the men.
