Water for Tai Tapu

The residents of Tai Tapu can now have their homes connected to the Paparua County Council's new high pressure water supply, the countv chairman (Cr D H Warren) announced.

Tai Tapu has about 450 residents. who hate previously had to rely on water from wells, but the $46,000 scheme — planned, designed and built by the council’s engineering staff — has changed that. Those wishing to connect their homes to the scheme should apply to the council, and some have already done so. There is a $2O connection fee that provides for a halfinch supply pipe to the property boundary, and from there it is the resident's responsibility to have the connection completed by a registered plumber. In most cases, this would cost from $2O to $5O.
