The executive cultural officer of! the Department of Internal Affairs (Mr W. Jarman), said) there could be up to 500 applications for payments this vear. He expected the amount ■ paid out for each book this) vear to be down 10 to 15 per) cent because of the increase in applications. Last year $1.31 was paid out for each) library volume of a book. An author must have at least 50 volumes in libraries before he can receive a payment
