The Post Office will mark the development of air transport in New Zealand by issuing a commemorative issue of four stamps. The stamps—3c. 4c, 5c and 23c values—will be available on June 5. The 3c stamn will have the Boeing seaplahe which made New Zealand’s ,

first official mail flight between Auckland and Dargaville in 1919. The 4c will show the Lockheed Electra, the aircraft introduced in 1937 to make regular airmail deliveries between the main centres. The 5c will have the Bristol Freighter which started ' carrying the mail in 1958. j

The international transport of mail will be shown on the 23c stamo. with the Empire S flying boat which started a regular service to Australia in 1940. The stamps were designed by Maurice Conly, of Christchurch, the man who designed the cover of the I present Christchurch i telephone directory.
