TV Special by Rowles
The New Zealand singer, John Rowles, is to make a colour television special for the N.Z.B.C. in Auckland, before he starts a tour of the country later this month-
The production might find a ready market overseas, especially in the United States, for Rowles has many engagements in New York, Las Vegas and Honolulu.
According to Wayne Harada, entertainment editor of the "Honolulu Advertiser," Rowles’s voice has matured and he has developed his act by introducing a soft-shoe routine, complete with bowler and cane. “I think its within this little segment that Rowles’s elegance and savvy shine,” Harada wrote. “He has loosened up. He is fluid. His versatility is emphatic.” Television viewers and live audiences throughout the country will have ample opportunity to assess this transformation. Rowles starts his concert tour at the Auckland Festival on March 27 and finishes at Dunedin on April 21. His Christchurch appearances will be in the Town Hall on April 17 and 18.
