Application refused
An application by Kenneth Raymond Kane for a passenger service licence to carry tourists in Uie South Island in a fivepassenger car has been refused by the No. 0 Transport District Licensing Authoritv (Mr J. M Dwyer) In a reserved decision. Evidence had been given that Mr Kane, who had run a taxi business in Christchurch for ? e yen years. spoke Japanese, and intended to form an agency to promote tours of the South Island by Japanese. in the decision, however, Mr Dwyer said although the knowlJapanese w W «n advantage, there was no evidence of any’ business offerin’ or the method of seeking custom, and ~ ' asuene’s about the I method of operation.
