(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 8. Registered unemployment last Friday fell to the lowest level since March, 1967, said the Minister of Labour (Mr Watt) today. Giving the fortnightly figures, Mr Watt said that the February 1 figure of 798 was the lowest recorded since March, 1967. As well, the figure had fallen 267 since January 18. An additional 57 men (234 at January 18) were on special work with Government departments, and five were on special local-body work. Mr Watt said the combined total of 860 was 4773 below the 5633 recorded at the same time last year. Vacancies recorded by the Labour Department increased from 2596 on January 18 to 3935 on February I.' District unemployment figures for February 1 (January 18 figures in brackets) were: Northland 135 (135), Auckland nil (nil), Hamilton 61 (64), Tauranga 68 (79), Rotorua 124 (137), Gisborne 66 (92), Napier 122 (35), Hastings 7 (5), New Plymouth 20 (31). Wanganui 24 (35), Palmerston North 37 (44), Masterton 5 (7). Lower Hutt I (5), Wellington 18 (28), Blenheim 31 (36), Nelson 11 (17), Greymonth 128 (36), Christchurch 34 <7O), j Timaru 1 (1). Dunedin 62 <B3), Invercargill 43 (125).
