LV.Z.P.A. Stoll Correspondent) LONDON. lan Thompson, the surprise winner of the Commonweolth Games marathon, will parade through the streets of his home town of Luton today. "We are ready to celebrate lan’s feat," said Luton's Mayor (Mr Bert King), when the English team arrived at Heathrow Airport, London. "His win rates higher in our town than Luton reaching the Cup final a few years ago." Most British competitors at the Commonwealth Games were on the jumbo pet which reached London after the 24hour flight from Christchurch Press coverage yesterday was largely confined to photographs of winners showing their gold medals. A few papers commented on the one sad face among the returning party—the runner David Bed ford.
